The Magic of 100

Self imposed challenges in 100 day containers

There are 100 days left in 2022.

Yeah, I know.

For the last several years I have self-inflicted a #last100days of the year project. 100 days have many significant places in my life. It is a nice round number I am drawn to. You can do something with it. It is important.

Today is the Autumn Equinox and a day for celebration! Today starts my new project.

Past 100-day projects have been daily writing prompts, writing daily poems, writing one random sentence that turned into a story after the challenge was over, and the 100 rejections that morphed into 100 submissions. The 100 submissions project yielded a collection I published.

Many ideas have swirled around my head these past few days for what project to pursue. I thought about one yoga pose day. I thought about something that had to do with tarot or fairy tales.

One past project that was delightful for me was the random sentence project. I also am drawn to one-word prompts. I have a list of words started in my notebook that I will post on my IG and then write a random sentence with that word each day for the rest of 2022.

What will I do with the sentences at the end? I have no idea and right now that doesn’t matter. There is something delightful in writing one delicious sentence that can stand on its own.

The words I choose will come from life and my reading.
