It is officially MAY! It doesn’t feel like May weather wise here in Wisconsin, but it means that next month is my birthday and my last days of work at school! Full time writer life here I come!
In last night’s PUSH group I asked a question I use in coaching - What is the most important to you right now?
I often get asked the follow up question For work or home?
Then I say - Whatever is the most important to you right now.
The answers were a range that led to a conversation about reading. Everyone on the call was also participating in Storyaday May so we talked about writing 31 stories for the month and also doing the FUN SIZE challenge which is offered this year.
For my challenge, I am combining the Storyaday prompts with the Sarah Selecky prompts and moving forward with fiction that way. I am devoted to writing in many layers. It is an every day thing. Being a moderator for the Centered community for Sarah I also have to dip into that space every day which has proven to be fueling to me as a writer and a teacher.
One of the most important breakthroughs for me over the past several weeks is finally figuring out a system for revising my novel. I am excited to dig into that project and feel myself thinking, “I GET to revise this story.” That is a huge shift in what had been happening before. I would set a schedule and then ignore the calendar notifications!
In other areas, the most important to me right now is my son! I spent some great time with him this past weekend. We had some great conversation, great food, and laughed a lot.
My questions to you today are:
What is the most important to you right now?
What are you devoted to?
______________
Life is general is getting better. I am able to check some things off that must be done and I am able to think about moving forward and what that looks like. I am not ashamed to say that my medication is helping. I also have a core group of friends that have been supportive as well which has been life changing. There will always be grief but there are some respites as I life my life and figure out what that looks like now.
