I think my word for next year will be 'forward' (as in both letting go and moving on).
It's something that is long overdue. And by not being able to move forward, I have found myself stuck. Stuck in a part of my life that I not only want to forgive myself for but to move on from.
Thanks for sharing this particular post of yours, as I did find it both personally appealing and something that I could really think about.
Hello Tammy, I found you via Chris La Tray's newsletter. Magic is an awesome guiding word/concept for traversing the year forward. I will need to cogitate a bit on choosing a word, though I'm loving the idea. Other languages than English would be helpful I think, since a single word can have such a deeper and broader meaning than what we have to choose from in English, but you have given me 'food for thought' (where ever THAT term came from..LOL!).
Thank you for reading! I agree that sometimes English may not be the language for the perfect word. I had Hygge as a word several years ago. It is still a word I carry with me. When you choose...or your word chooses you...please let me know!
I think that my word should be "Gratitude". I am starting the year in a state of some chaos, homeless, stressed and confused. I know things will work out as long as I stay grateful.
It IS hard to pick just one word and I have alighted on several but have decided on Joy.
I started with Grace, then moved to Wonder, but I actually incorporate both of those in my days quite well, but Joy in the way I know I can and have known joy, the way it fills me and grounds me and brings an enthusiasm for life and living is something I am longing to regain.
I cheated last year with PUSH and make it an acronym!!! Joy is a wonderful word! I am looking forward to hearing how this gets incorporated into your every day life. Have you made a list of things you find joyful? Big and small?
So what were the words making up your acronym PUSH?
I haven't gone beyond deciding on the word so far. I do find Joy in many things, it's a different internal joyfulness I am searching for, that feeling that has at times just suffused me in anticipation of the day. Maybe my word should be joyfulness.

Lastly, happy early NEW YEAR. :).
Happy New Year to you!!!
What a lovely word! I have been struggling with the "let it go" part of the equation myself. Thank you for reading.

I am so sorry these situations are plaguing you. You have a wonderful reframing attitude about it which I admire. Thank you for reading.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot. It really is hard to settle on just one.
Some years are easier than others! I have also had years I chose and then changed a month in!
Magic is a wonderful word.
Today I experienced it as my daughter's kitten (they are visiting for Christmas) playing with our older, normally calmer cats. Such joy & laughter.
My word for 2022 is encouragement.
Kittens are magical! I can only imagine the antics. Thank you for sharing. I am smiling!

It stood for Power, Unleash, Significance and Hope
